Vaccine Distribution Update

THE COVID-19 VACCINE IS NOT MANDATORY! If you choose not to receive it, just pass the list on to the next person and you will not be contacted. If you are an employee (not a program manager) and you would like to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination from IHS, you must contact your program manager with the attached list and tell them you want to be placed on a master list which they have been instructed to return to [email protected] or [email protected] . *Another option... If you have insurance through your employer, you can now receive a free vaccine through your healthcare provider which would free up two doses for someone who does not have Insurance. Since your medical care provider is also required to follow CDC guidelines, you will still be placed in the appropriate category based on your risk factors however it may move a bit faster since they may receive a larger supply of vaccine. Please call your healthcare provider for availability.
Interested to find out (about) where you stand in line? Here is a handy link I found on the CDC website: How many people may get a COVID-19 vaccine before you? (go.com)
We are relieved to finally see a silver lining and encouraged that so many tribal members and employees are anxious to receive their vaccine. Please remember that supplies are limited throughout the WORLD and there is no certainty on how many vaccines will be delivered to any facilities from week to week which will obviously effect scheduling. I do have confidence that the epidemiologists are working hard to make more as well as to create boosters for the most mutated and life threatening variants. Meanwhile, the tribe will continue to follow CDC Guidelines for vaccine distribution. Please be patient. This is a worldwide pandemic; you are not alone in your frustrations/issues/concerns. We are all doing our best with the resources we have been provided. Hang in there! We will get through this!
