ESDS On-Campus Family Events On Hold

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Toka Nuwaƞ Wayawa Tipi Community Education Department has put all on-campus family events on hold to keep our families safe. In the meantime we have had various activities for the students to participate in. During our annual Lights On Afterschool activities in October student participated in a coloring contest. One winner was chosen from each grade, and received a $10 gift card. The winners were: K - Kenly Iyarpeya, 1st - Elizabeth Herrick, 2nd - JaCobi LaBlanc, 3rd - Ayden Eagle, 4th - Gabby Peters, 5th - Niya Eastman, 6th - no submissions, 7th - no submissions, and 8th - Rayleigh Marquardt. For Veterans Day K-5th students participated in a coloring contest and 6th-8th students wrote Veterans Day essays. The winners receiving giftcards were: K - Kate Lee, 1st - Aria Bertsch, 2nd - Xalee Simon, 3rd - Gabe Iyarpeya, 4th - no submission, 5th - Kaelyn Owen, 6th - MaKaya Running Hawk, 7th - Del Frenier, and 8th - Isabelle Herrick. During remote learning students were able to learn about building and architecture by participating in the Gingerbread House Building Challenge. Participants that submitted a house received a giftcard: Malaki Fasthorse, Laken Fasthorse, Amelia Simon, Azalia Simon, Vydalia Redday, JJ Redday, Marley Mae Crawford, and Wetu Manning-Peters. As the pandemic situation improves we are looking forward to getting together on-campus with our families once again!
