February is Heart Month
Last updated 2/8/2021 at 11:15pm
The heart is a muscular organ, which pumps blood through our blood vessels. The pumped blood then carries oxygen and nutrients to the body, while carrying metabolic waste such as carbon dioxide to the lungs. In humans, the heart is approximately the size of a closed fist and is located between the lungs, in the middle of the chest.
* Your body has about 5 quarts of blood which circulates through the body 3 times every minute!
* An average heart beats about 100,000 times a day.
* Laughing can be a great workout for your heart. It improves the function of the blood vessels and increases Blood flow.
