March is designated as 'Womens Month' and Wac'ang'a decided to celebrate individuals who are the epitome of being a Dakota Woman, who have maintained a home, raised a family and became educated and/or worked through all life's struggles and kept the family together. Wac'ang'a chose to honor the following Tribal Elderly Women who have been the 'unsung role models' of their families, the community and the Tribe. Each has had to face various types of diversity in pursuing their professions and or education, thereby enhancing their gifts of fortitude, commitment, resilence and the strength of a Dakota Woman. We have selected one woman from each district to honor. The event was held March 26, 2021 at 1:00pm.
