Toka Nuwan District News

Now that Spring is here and the days are getting longer and warmer there are lots of things to celebrate in the community. The Enemy Swim District hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the younger kids 10 and under and a good time was had by all. The kids searched for over 400 hidden eggs left by the Easter Bunny! Some of the eggs contained a red ticket that allowed the holder to pick out a special prize. We saw lots of smiles and happy kids and happy parents.

We have some upcoming activities planned for the youth this summer and we are seeking volunteers. If you would like to volunteer please contact Crystal Owen, District Chairperson 605-467-1929.

A spring cleanup is scheduled for the Enemy Swim Housing and surrounding area for Saturday April 17th and everyone is invited to come out and help pick up the trash. This cleanup event will happen monthly. We know it's important to always pick up trash to keep Mother Earth beautiful. Please think about getting involved in cleaning up the area wherever you are. If we all pitch in, we can make a great difference in making the whole Lake Traverse Reservation look beautiful and clean of trash! It would be good to concentrate on the lakes like Big Rock where everyone swims during the summer months. If you utilize the area, please come and help us out! Everyone is welcome.
