Last updated 4/12/2021 at 10:17pm

Our office will be distributing the food cards as follows: Dakota Crossing - Buche food cards will be available for use on Thursday, April 15, 2021. The funds will automatically be deposited to the food cards on this date. New Elders recipients of the food card can pick up their card at Dakota Crossing - Buche Foods located in Sisseton, SD, and you must provide identification (Tribal ID card is acceptable) card to pick up.

The rest of the food cards to be mailed will start on Friday, April 16, 2021, until completed and all food cards are individually enveloped, sealed, and delivered to the United States post office in Sisseton, SD.

Helpful reminders and patience to keep in mind as we continue to work out the new way of handling the re-loadable food cards as follows: Please safeguard your food card. In the event your food card is lost or stolen, please go to Dakota Crossing - Buche foods store to get your card replaced. We also encourage you to use your cellphone to take a picture of your food card number on the back of the food card for safekeeping/identifying. The number on the back of the food card was assigned specifically to you.

As a reminder, you can always contact Minerva Keoke, Elderly Resource Coordinator, her phone number is: 605-698-3911, extension 6633, with questions regarding the food card. Please leave a voice mail with your name, phone number, working voice mail, and reason for calling. If you miss her return phone call, Minerva will leave a message for you.

I continue to encourage you to protect yourself by wearing a mask, wash your hands, social distance, and your willingness to help.

Myrna Thompson, Tribal Secretary.
