PROGRAM: SWO Diabetes Center – Sara Lincoln, Director

The SWO Diabetes Program’s mission is to implement programs and to work with other health programs to treat and prevent diabetes complications on the Lake Traverse Reservation. The purpose of the SWO Fitness and Diabetes Programs is to educate and empower people in our community to be proactive in improving their personal fitness and health levels.

Hours of operations are Monday-Friday 6AM-7PM and Saturday 10AM – 4PM

Assessments are done with every participant that utilizes our Facility. Height, Weight, BMI, Body Fat Mass, Blood Sugar, A1c, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and Triglycerides are monitored.

Currently we have 330assessments and 112 reassessments completed

43 people with Diabetes. 10 reassessments.

20 with Pre-Diabetes. 10 reassessments.

231 with a BMI > 25. 83 reassessments.

38 with a BMI < 25. 11 reassessments.

Fitness Bingo: 0 Participant’s actively in the Bingo Game.

Climb Mt. Everest Challenge: 1 participant is actively climbing. 4 participants have completed all 3 mountains, 3 have completed the 1st mountain.

Walking/Running Club: 44 Participant’s with a total of 111.1 miles completed.

Daily Classes:

Ashley’s Power Hour-8 classes—41 Participants

Glenn’s HIIT—9 classes--- 26 Participants

Move and Munch---4 classes---42 Participants

Healthy Family Program---9 Active Families

September Events: No event was held in September.
