PROGRAM: SWO Youth and Family TREE- SWO Behavioral Health – Dr. Norman Johnson, Director

Function/Mission Statement:

To Promote and sustain the quality of life, integrity and empowerment of tribal members by planning, developing and providing health care services consistent with the behavioral, physical, cultural, and spiritual values of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation.

Objective: expand outreach via Facebook and the radio station and schedule on-site visits to other SAMHSA grant sites to see what we can do to self sustain.

This month we had:

 Active Clients (Therapy services): 38

 Discharged/Closed-Out Clients: 0

 Intakes: 18

 Assessments: 16

 Individual counseling sessions: 20

 Family counseling sessions: 9

 Referrals: 21

 Consultations (Families/Other Professionals): 124

 UA’s Administered: 4

 SBIRT’s completed: 14

 Staff meetings: 21

 Trainings: 10

Objective: maintain coalitions and networks to improve coordination and collaboration among other programs with the intent to provide support and referrals without any delay for the client.

 Monthly meetings with various coalitions:

o Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP) was started for 12 – 17 year-olds, one (1)

six-week sessions.

o Attended IHS BHIT meetings.

o Meetings with SWO CPP.

o Consultant contracts with psychologist, family educator, Equine therapist prepared.

o QPR training is now open and all staff required to complete.

o HIPAA Privacy Training has or is being completed by all staff.

o CPR/First-aid training is being set up for all staff.

o UA training is being set up for all staff that needs this training.

 Working remotely:

o All staff are back to work full-time.

o All the staff monitored the Native Connections Crisis Line throughout the month (i.e.,

staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week).

 SAMHSA Grant Report Submission:

 “Budget Modification” is being adjusted to fit the Goals & Objectives of the Grant services.
