SWODARE Team Receives Training In Order To Transport Young COVID Patients

Last updated 4/21/2022 at 12:08pm

Members of the SWO DARE team completed child passenger safety training provided by the SWO Community Health Education program. The DARE team is in charge of staffing the COVID-19 Isolation Facility and are responsible for helping transport COVID-positive families and individuals to appointments and to the facility if that's where they choose to isolate.

Because there was a recent need to transport families with young children, DARE needed to have car seats. The car seats were provided through the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting Program and the training needed to be complete in order to receive them. The training was facilitated by Laci LaFromboise who is a certified Child Passenger Safety technician. The Community Health Education program helps provide car seats to eligible tribal citizens and if you have any further questions you can reach their office at 605-742-3651.
