Job Title: School Resource Officer

Supervisory: Officer will be under the supervision of the Captain of Police or the designee

Duties: Respond to calls concerning criminal activities. Pursue, capture, disarm, and

detain suspected criminals. Respond to emergencies such as traffic accidents, confrontations, altercations, and disorderly conduct. Maintain law and order. Investigate suspicious situations and taking the appropriate action. Please contact the HR office for a full job description.

Requirements: Must be 21 years of age. Must be able to attend and pass the School Resource

Officer Certification class. Must notify and communicate with the School Administrator at all times. Must adhere to the strictest of confidentiality. Will work with the SWO Law Enforcement when school is closed. Must pass background adjudication investigation. If uncertified, must get certified within one year of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have no criminal conviction that raise moral/character issues. Must pass a drug test. Must have thorough knowledge of the SWO Law Enforcement SOP’s.

Job Title: Indian Highway Safety Project Officer

Supervisory: Officer will be under the supervision of the Captain of Police or the designee

Duties: Understand the Grant Agreement. Ensure Compliance with rules and regulations.

Knowledge of performance measures and reporting requirements. Enforce traffic

Ordinances and investigate traffic crashes. Provide first aid. Maintain records, daily logs, and complete police reports in a timely manner. Adhere to confidentiality. Preform other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Must possess basic police officer certification or become certified within one

year of hire. This certification must me from the Indian Policy Academy. Must

have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be

21 years old. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must

have no felony convictions or domestic violence convictions. Must pass

background check.
